P6 CATALYSIS AND SEPARATION (CatSep)

To make biorefineries successful, it is essential to develop suitable catalysts and energy-lean separation technologies.

The focus of this platform is fundamental research on novel integrated catalysis and separation processes, designed for application in forest and other lignocellulosic-based biorefineries and encompassing both thermochemical and biochemical routes to fuels and chemicals.

Key areas of research: chemical catalysts, alternative solvents, zeolites, membrane separation

Participants: LTU (Chemical Technology), UmU (Chemistry)

Platform leader: Jonas Hedlund jonas.hedlund@ltu.se +46 920 492 105
